It’s convention time!

The Society of Professional Journalists is holding a joint conference with the College Media Association and Associated Collegiate Press in Washington D.C. all this week. It’s our first in-person convention since the world ended, and I’m so pleased to be heading to Washington DC. I will be tweeting updates from the conference at @edonaldmedia and @stlspj and am honored to appear on a freelancing panel with the inestimable Ruth Thaler-Carter.

I am honored to once again represent St. Louis Pro at convention as delegate, where I will vote on the proposals of the year and snoop around our fellow chapters to find ideas we can steal. Er, network! That’s what I meant. And if you have strong feelings about any of this year’s proposals, please let me know at stlouisspj at gmail dot com.

Keep in mind that SPJ officers are elected by all SPJ members, not just the delegates. So if you are an official SPJ member in good standing, please watch your email in the next day or two. You will receive information on how to vote for president, vice president, regional coordinator and other offices. Find out about the various candidates here.

Please, members: Let’s have a good showing from SPJ. The voter turnout from Region 7 in the past has been, charitably, abysmal. I’d like to see a majority of St. Louis Pro voting this year. It takes only a few minutes. And it’s democracy!

If you have any questions or problems, please email me or message me on Twitter. And if you’re here, find me on the app!
